Ponder this one thought:
You THINK you have strength in your muscles. But if you cut the nerve to your muscles, they stop working.
In other words, the power of your muscles isn’t IN your muscles - it’s in the signals that go to them from the nervous system.
I know this doesn’t seem terribly profound. In this era, it’s fairly common knowledge.
But, if you‘re anything like me, then your mind just spiraled off with the implications.
Here’s what I mean:
The power in the muscles comes from the nerves which comes from an intent, which comes from the brain which comes from...crap. We don’t know where it comes from.
OK. Let’s try another approach:
The power in the muscles comes from the cells and the power in the cells comes from the molecules and the power in the molecules comes from the atoms and...crap...antother dead end - but I’m closer. In fact, the only thing holding me back from making the next logical leap is the fear of the “G” word (God).
Let’s be blunt:
When we chase the source of our bodily energy down to the very root cause, it comes from the Quantum field. Anything that we do - any action we take, the words I’m typing now, the things that you’re reading now (including the buger you just picked...I’m talking to you, Eddie) all came from the Quantum.
At the risk of frightening Christian-phobes...this is what Jesus was talking about when he said: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
Now, we could do a lot to unpack what is meant by “word”, and “God” and even who or what Jesus represents or was...but I argue that this statement really does have the power of truth behind it.
Here’s the part that made me have to sit down:
So many of us spend our lives running from place to place, accumulating food and sustinance in order to get to our next thing - whatever it is. We grow so accustomed to having a body and making it follow our most minute impulse from the time we first arrive on the planet that we forget what a tremendous marvel of evolution our bodies really are. Contemplate the coordination effort it takes to develop a muscle, wrap it around a bone, send an electical signal through it, and make it do something - while communicating with and balancing with other, non-attached muscles and functions. It’s inconcievably complex. Yet we just DO it.
And the energy behind it - the will, the intention, the desire, the caring...whatever you may call it - all finds its origin in the quantum field.
That’s my deep thought for today.
Stay full of love!
Sean.
